DIRECTORS of the Department of State Services drawn from North-West geopolitical zone are currently brainstorming in Kaduna to reverse the troubling spate of insecurity occasioned by kidnapping, banditry and other related crimes in the zone.

The 2nd quarterly meeting of the secret police is holding in the newly acquired DSS office complex located along Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari Way (formerly WAFF road), Kaduna on Thursday.

All the Directors of the agency from Kebbi, Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Katsina, Sokoto and Zamfara States were present at the meeting which was declared open by the Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai.

In attendance were also heads of security agencies from the Army, Nigerian Air Force, Federal Road Safety Corps, the state Commissioner of Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Nigeria Customs Service, among other paramilitary agencies.

Speaking while declaring the meeting open, El-Rufai said his administration’s priority was to keep the state safe from any form of security threats.

To this end, the governor said the state government would continue to support and invest on security operatives for the protection of lives and property of the citizens of the state.

According to him, the state government will acquire advanced technology like drones in confronting bandits across the state.

El-Rufai said, “We have invested in drones, and we are investing in more drones, working with the Air Force and the SSS to see that these drones are deployed to provide additional intelligence. We are also building a forensic laboratory, to help the Police and other security agencies in crime detection and prevention.”

Earlier in his welcome address, the Kaduna State DSS Director, Idris Koya, noted that the periodic meeting was originated by the DGSS, Alhaji Yusuf Bichi, to enable the state directors to regularly come together and brainstorm on the spate of insecurity in the North-West and exchange ideas on how to proffer solutions to it.

In a goodwill message on behalf of other sister security agencies, the state Commissioner of Police, Umar Muri, said the quarterly meeting was coming at the right time when the zone was grappling with security challenges.

According to her, it will be advisable for upcoming artistes to heed his advice and focus on other things than music, adding that they will thank him in ten years’ time.

In a Facebook post, Reggie asserted that the government and other organizations responsible for the welfare of musicians are not able to perform their required duties because they are also lacking the needed assistance to do so.

He wrote;

“If you’re an upcoming Ghanaian music artist reading this post right now, I WANT YOU TO QUIT DOING MUSIC IN GHANA and go and learn a trade, go get some new vocational skills like Carpentry, Masonry, Hairdressing, Tailoring, or further your education in law, account ing, Engineering., Marketing or in Science.

Take my advice today and you will thank me in 10years time cuz apart from ARMED ROBBERY, doing music in Ghana is the 2nd most dangerous job you can ever do.

The GOVERNMENT doesn’t give a SHIT about you, GHAMRO will never work for YOU, Musigha is just for decoration and 99% of event organizers cannot pay you the thousands of dollars you expect now cuz they’re all bleeding especially after the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Please take my advice and go and find a proper job to do because most of your favorite celebrities are surviving by crazy means and unconventional strategies that you may not have the heart to endure.”

Almost 4,000 fully vaccinated people in the U.S. have tested positive for COVID-19

Published

on

Nearly 4,000 fully vaccinated people in Massachusetts, US, have tested positive for COVID-19, according to new data from the state Department of Public Health.

The number of breakthrough cases in the state has accounted for approximately one in 1,000 vaccinated people.

According to the state Department of Public Health, as of June 12, there were 3,791 coronavirus cases among the more than 3.7 million fully vaccinated individuals in Massachusetts.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, large-scale clinical studies have found that COVID-19 vaccination prevented most people from getting the virus. Still, no vaccine is 100% effective at preventing the disease and there will be “a small percentage of fully vaccinated people who still get sick, are hospitalized, or die from COVID-19.”

“We’re learning that many of the breakthrough infections are asymptomatic or they’re very mild and brief in duration,” said Boston University infectious diseases specialist Davidson Hamer, according to the Boston Herald.

“The viral load is not very high.”

“Breakthroughs are expected, and we need to better understand who’s at risk and whether people who have a breakthrough can transmit the virus to others,” he continued.

“In some cases, they’ll be shedding such low levels of the virus and won’t be transmitting to others.”

“Testing to identify current infection remains critical to control of COVID-19,” a DPH spokeswoman said.

“People with current infection can spread the virus to others and isolation of cases and identification of close contacts (individuals who may have been exposed) is a foundation of public health response.”

A new study from the CDC showed that Pfizer and Moderna are about 90% effective against infection two weeks after the last dose has passed while the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine is about 72% effective against moderate to severe disease.
